Have you recently been slapped by Google and been shocked
that some of your bid prices have risen as high as ten
dollars a click. Google has been making changes to its
algorithms and you may have found it very difficult to use
Google Adwords and actually generate profits. The web sites
that have been hit the hardest are Adsense web sites,
affiliate sites, one page sales letter sites and landing
pages. Google Adwords may seem like a mystery. However if
you know how to fix it you can continue using Google
Adwords. Also adverts going to large web sites with lots of
quality content have been unaffected.

Now let us look at what Google actually wants and the
reasons that they have implemented this Google slap that
actually can drive many Google Adwords advertisers to other
search engines. According to Google they have received many
complaints from users about their experience and this is
the reason driving the changes. The main offenders are
landing pages, sales letters and web sites that have too
similar content with too many adverts. If your web site
does not fall into the above categories it is unlikely
that you will be affected.

I am going to go through some steps you can take to improve
your quality score on the affected pages and help reduce
your advertising bids. You need to make sure that your
sponsored adverts can be separated from your normal content.
Blending your adverts with your content does help to
improve your click through rates, but Google wants you to
distinguish the adverts. If you require a user to register
for example submit their email address to gain access to
your information this is going against the Google
guidelines and you need to at least provide a preview of
what they will receive. You need to provide pages that
provide substantial and useful content to your web site
users. This is largely a problem for Google Adsense
arbitrage sites. Once you have applied these tips you need
to include the keywords that you are targeting in the title
and header tags and between two and five percent in the
body. Also if you put your landing or squeeze pages up on a
large web site with lots of good quality content pages and
a good page rank the quality score of the web site will
boost your landing page score.

Once you have applied these changes to your web sites to
avoid the Google slap they will have a significant impact
on your business.
